London 360° Panorama
By Ritu Singhal
A sunny day in London demands a celebration. And more so, if one was showered with the first snowflakes of the season the previous day. Galvin at Windows Restaurant & Bar at the London Hilton on Park Lane has kept its one Michelin star every year since 2009.
The views from the 28th floor of this tower in central London are truly spectacular. The sun shone brightly through the floor to ceiling windows in the restaurant to greet us at our table – it didn’t feel like it was freezing outside!

The founder chef patrons, Chris & Jeff Galvin, create seasonally inspired French fusion menus using the finest seasonal produce, crafted under the guidance of the Head Chef Joo Won. All three areas of the restaurant, the main dining, the private dining and the bar have been laid out to give each guest an opportunity to enjoy the food and drink without missing out on the view – Buckingham Palace, Hyde Park, London Eye, Canary Wharf, Wembley Stadium, BT Tower, Shard, Walkie Talkie, and other iconic London sites.
Our three-course lunch was wonderfully laid out by the discreetly attentive Georgina. The food was very flavourful and aesthetically presented. The Head Sommelier, Rudina Arpi, highlighted champagnes in her very elaborate wine list and her selection of natural and biodynamic wines.

The sommelier recommended that I go for the wines offered by the glass from the set selection. It was an excellent choice.
