At the London Wine Fair, I was almost pulled out of the aisles by an Export Director who has been working the Indian market for almost a decade. For once, I found him extremely agitated because an importer in India had not paid his invoices, and had been doling out excuse on excuse. For me, lack of integrity on payments is absolutely unacceptable, specially in a country that held even a verbal promise in the highest esteem. |

The wine market in India might not be most returns friendly, but some forward looking companies have invested here keeping in mind a larger interest. I trust that better sense would prevail, and the progress made in the last two decades would not be negated by irresponsible actions of a few stakeholders. |
