Torres Time @ Qla
By Madhura Pawar
In 1870, Torres was founded by Jaime Torres Vendrell. Successive generations have worked hard and constantly innovated to get Torres on the wine’s world map.
Torres was an early mover in India. Prestige Wine and Spirits (then TT&G Trading), an Avantha Group company, introduced Torres to Indian vinos in 2001.

The visit of the Ramon Vasquez Cordoba, Brand Ambassador Torres, made for an opportunity to taste some Torres wines from Spain and Chile.
In his customary speech, Ramon highlighted Torres’ mission – to care for the Earth by adopting sustainable agriculture practices which in turn will help produce better wines.
Reminding us that Torres turns 150 years old in a few years, he told us that Torres is proud of its family legacy and is a part of “Primum Familiae Vini”, an international association of the world's finest wine producing families. Torres was selected as an Admired Wine Brand in the year 2014, 2015 and 2017.
Ramon also shared with vino india news of the new Torres sparkling range, Cuvée Esplendor by Vardon Kennett: a limited production vintage sparkling wine produced in Alt Penedès using the traditional method.

2013 Altos Ibericos Crianza (Tempranillo). From Rioja. Ruby colour with cherry and plum aromas with some toastiness and hint of pepper. Soft tannins balanced the medium acidity. Medium finish. Aged for 12 months in old French/ American oak.
